Scaramucci, who began his work in the White House on 25 July 2017 without being sworn in, quit shortly after in an expletive-laden interview to The New Yorker in which he made obscene and derogatory statements about White House officials.

Responding to a Trump attack of the previous night, Scaramucci warned Sunday that Trump will likely turn on the whole country just as he has turned on him.

"You have to consider a change at the top of the ticket when someone is acting like this", Scaramucci said during an appearance Monday on CNN's "New Day".

Over the weekend, Trump attacked his former communications director following Scaramucci's criticism.

While he said he tried to stay loyal to the president and his agenda because he believes in his policies, he told CNN's John Berman that he can no longer support President Trump.

A former spokesperson for the vice president and current Trump 2020 campaign aide defended President Trump's spreading of far-right conspiracy theories surrounding the death of accused sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein.

One-time White House staffer Anthony Scaramucci is changing his tune on his support for President Trump.

He went on: "A couple more weeks like this and "country over party" is going to require the Republicans to replace the top of the ticket in 2020".

Yet "he knows very little about me", Trump said.

"Anthony, who would do anything to come back in, should remember the only reason he is on TV, and it's not for being the Mooch!", Mr. Trump added. The former hedge fund manager has increasingly criticized Trump's racist rhetoric as well as his recent visits to the scenes of mass shootings.

This followed an Axios interview where Scaramucci compared Trump to the nuclear reactor meltdown Chernobyl.

"So, look, the president didn't do well on the trip".

"If the trip is being made about him and not the demonstration of compassion, and love, and caring and empathy for those people, then it becomes a catastrophe for him - the administration - and it's also a bad reflection on the country", he continued, theorizing: "Maybe he'll tweet something negative about somebody for saying he didn't do well". "Should we send him back?" he said.
