China urged India and Pakistan to avoid unilateral actions, and to seek a new path of peaceful coexistence.

Earlier, Thousands of Kashmiris have protested against Indian forces in Occupied Kashmir despite a curfew after India stripped the occupied valley of its special status through a presidential decree, a video tweeted by BBC South Asia showed on Saturday.

FM Wang recalled that China and Pakistan had supported each other on issues related to their core interests and said that "China will continue to support Pakistan in safeguarding its legitimate rights and interests and uphold justice for Pakistan on the worldwide arena".

"I have shared with China that the Pakistan government has made a decision to take this issue to UN Security Council".
