In a statement, Barca revealed that they had paid the €120 million to activate the Frenchman's release clause, adding that he would sign a five-year deal that included a "buyout clause of €800 million".

In a statement released by Atletico, they claim the amount deposited for Griezmann's signing is "insufficient".

He was scouted by Basque club Real Sociedad at the age of 14.

The French forward will be presented as a new Barça man on Sunday but the club wanted to release a short video in which Griezmann had a message for the supporters.
