Finally, we know what Microsoft's teasing Twitter posts have all been about: the release of Windows 1.11, an app that mimics the look and feel of an early version of Windows in conjunction with the Netflix show, Stranger Things.

The Windows 1.11 app and new Stranger Things-based Windows 10 themes are both available free on the Microsoft Store.

While Windows 1.11 will be vaguely familiar to anyone who used the original Windows 1.0, there are a few noticeable differences.

The new app includes the classic version of Paint, Terminal programs, and, yes, "Stranger Things" puzzles and content that you can't find anywhere else.

Microsoft's social media accounts hinted at something a bit weird and very retro over the last several days, as it "introduced" the 'all-new Windows 1.0 with MS-Dos Executive, Clock, and more!'. The company then celebrated the 10-year anniversary of its Redmond headquarters and the release of Windows 1.0. But, the Windows 1.11 app and Stranger Things 3 game probably will, so download and play with care. Like Dustin, Lucas, and the rest of the gang from Hawkins, Indiana, you have to solve puzzles in an attempt to save the town from that realm's foul beasts.

Windows 1.11, though is not just another app, and shares its connection with American science fiction-horror web television series, Stranger Things 3. But many were quick to figure out that it was something related to the Netflix show Stranger Things.

On Monday, July 8, Microsoft unveiled the Windows 1.11 app. They may even confront the Mind Flayer. Users can unlock content to go along with the show, and as you explore, there are various glitches that are related to the Upside Down.

"It's basically the raddest show companion experience ever", Microsoft says.

Microsoft plans to feature "Camp Know Where" at its stores and online - so kids over 13 can participate in STEM workshops, which start 20 July.
