Target shoppers unable to make purchases due to nationwide register outage

Target customers across the country are tweeting that the big box retailer is experiencing a nationwide computer malfunction that has caused numerous stores' registers to stop working on Saturday.

Meanwhile, some shoppers say that although they're frustrated, Target and its employees are helping them make the most of it.

Nancy Yang, a digital producer from MPR news in Minnesota, tweeted an image of an error message on a Target register.

The website has a heat map that shows Target outages from coast-to-coast, including Alabama.

"Craziest shift ever", tweeted a Target employee named Marschelle.

"After an initial but thorough review, we can confirm that this was not a data breach or security-related issue, and no guest information was compromised at any time", the spokeswoman said in a statement.
