Barty ends Anisimova's run to reach French Open final

Anisimova - the first player born in the 2000s to reach the semi-finals or quarter-finals at a grand slam - continued to show great fight to save five match points but Barty sealed the win on her sixth despite light rain.

Barty is one of three of the four semi-finalists who have never been at this stage in a Grand Slam before in their careers.

The decider was less wild but four consecutive games for Barty from 1-2 put her on the brink of victory and she served it out at the first time of asking, taking her third match point.

and if Amanda Anisimova continues to play the way she has been over the past 12 days, she could become the youngest victor of a grand slam title since Sharapova at Wimbledon in 2004.
