The US has repeatedly claimed that Huawei's equipment could be used for spying by China.

"We are willing to sign no-spy agreements with governments, including the United Kingdom government, to commit ourselves to making our equipment meet the no-spy, no-backdoors standard", said Liang Hua, Huawei chairman. "No spying, no back doors", and also explained that our understanding of the ways the Chinese government is alleged to wield influence over its businesses are incorrect, with Liang saying there's no local law that forces businesses to allow access to the government if requested.

"We are willing to sign no-spy agreements with governments, including the United Kingdom government, to commit ourselves to making our equipment".

The statement comes after news leaked this month that Huawei equipment would be used in 5G networks in the United Kingdom, creating tension between it and the U.S. The leaks resulted in Theresa May firing her defense minister Gavin Williamson, despite Williamson denying leaking anything.

According to a White House statement, Mr Trump's order aims to "protect America from foreign adversaries who are actively and increasingly creating and exploiting vulnerabilities in information and communications technology infrastructure and services".

Reuters reported on May 14 that Trump was expected to take action on the long-awaited proposal this week.

But Huawei - which is the world's largest maker of telecoms equipment - has vehemently denied the allegations.

The U.S., which is embroiled in an escalating trade war with China, also has sounded warnings about Huawei's efforts to expand into Europe.

Earlier this year, the Justice Department charged Huawei and its USA affiliate with theft of trade secrets conspiracy, attempted theft of trade secrets, seven counts of wire fraud, and one count of obstruction of justice.

"We are willing to sign "no-spy" agreements with governments, including the United Kingdom government, to commit ourselves, to commit our equipment to meeting the no-spy, no back-door standards", Liang told reporters.

"Protecting America's communications networks is vital to our national, economic, and personal security", Pai said. The U.S.is seeking to extradite her. In January 2018, US carriers shunned Huawei's newly-launched flagship, the Mate 10 Pro.

While the big wireless companies have already cut ties with Huawei, small rural carriers continue to rely on both Huawei and ZTE switches and other equipment because they tend to be cheaper.
