Tim Conway, Comedian and Actor, Loses Battle After a Long Illness

The actor was a recurring player on the legendary variety show from its debut season in 1967, eventually joining the main cast in 1975 when original cast member Lyle Waggoner left the show.

He enjoyed success in a series of "Dorf" comedy films and appeared in such movies as The Apple Dumpling Gang, Gus and The Shaggy D.A.

Carol Burnett told FOX News, "I'm heartbroken". "He is at peace now but I will miss him every second of every day until we meet again in heaven".

While America was laughing at Conway, so were his co-stars: Burnett and Harvey Korman were often caught by the camera trying not to crack up during his performances.

Burnett and Conway continued to work together throughout the rest of their careers. He became a regular on the show in the early 1960s.

Conway is survived by his wife of more than 30 years, Charlene Fusco, as well as his six children he had with his first time, Mary Anne Dalton from 1961 to 1978.
