Mavericks' Kristaps Porzingis Bloodied After Altercation with Fans

Dallas Morning News reporter Brad Townsend tweeted on Sunday that "a Mavericks source tells me the franchise is well aware of the circulating Porzingis video".

Kristaps Porzingis was bloodied in what was reportedly an altercation in a club in Latvia.

This afternoon, a video surfaced on social media featuring a bloodied Porzingis with a crowd of people on the street in his home country of Latvia. Shams Charania of The Athletic reports that the Mavericks are aware of the situation and looking into it.

The Dallas Mavericks acquired the 23-year-old in a blockbuster trade with the New York Knicks, and plan to ink him to a five-year max deal. "We will provide an update when one is available", the team said in a statement.

Porzingis did not play for either the Mavericks or Knicks last season, instead choosing to continue rehabbing from a torn left ACL that he suffered on February 6, 2018.

The Knicks ended correspondence with the woman in November and last wrote to her that they "decided to retain counsel to represent him and they will be in touch with you shortly". It would soon be revealed that Porzingis was accused of sexual assault by a NY woman who claimed the player raped her in 2018. "The New York Knicks will not have any further involvement on Kristaps' behalf".
