"The thing that makes you angry is that she's telling me how scared my daughters are in their schools, texting her", Malone said. The man's employer, Boss High Level Protection, was contracted to guard the charter school that has an enrollment of about 1,800 students.

Kendrick Castillo, the teen killed in the shooting, was described Wednesday as a friendly STEM student who charged the two attackers in an effort to help his classmates escape.

It was too soon to confirm a motive for the shooting and Spurlock would not say if the suspects were cooperating with law enforcement.

Authorities were working to get search warrants for the suspects' residences and a vehicle, the sheriff added.
