Trainspotting 2 actor Bradley Welsh shot dead

"T2 Trainspotting" actor Bradley Welsh was shot dead Wednesday in Scotland's capital, officials said.

The 42-year-old was killed in an incident in Chester Street at around 8pm.

Bradley Welsh, the former boxer who landed the role of a gangster in 2017's T2 Trainspotting has been shot dead near his home in Edinburgh, Scotland.

He has run charity projects in the city to help young people stay fit and out of trouble through his Holyrood Boxing Gym.

He died at the scene, a statement added.

A fifth wrote: "When you're out the country and not reading news properly from home, and think Bradley WALSH has been shot in Edinburgh, and even worse, you've told a couple of fellow Brits that the presenter of The Chase has been shot". Police have confirmed that they are treating his death as suspicious.

Irvine Welsh, the author of "Trainspotting", paid tribute to the fallen actor.

He's a fairly well-known figure in his area, and many have commented on social media about Bradley Welsh's passing. "Our thoughts and sympathy go out to Bradley's family at this extremely hard time".

Local resident Alasdair Morton said armed police sealed off the area from Walker Street to Manor Place as someone had suffered a "gunshot wound to the head".
