Some gamers still prefer to own a physical disc-and the other Xbox One consoles still exist to serve this audience-but this new console is aimed at those who are ready to go completely digital and want a (slightly) cheaper option.

The digital Xbox One S comes pre-installed with three games developed by Microsoft-Minecraft, Forza Horizon 3, and Sea of Thieves.

During today's episode of Inside Xbox, Microsoft officially announced the rumored All Digital Edition of the Xbox One S. This is the very first Xbox console to launch without a disc tray.

Xbox Live Gold, on the other hand, is Microsoft's gateway to online play.

Why TikTok ban may not have the desired results
The Government has stated the reason for the ban as the abuse of the app to distribute child pornography and illegal content. More than 30 million users in India installed it in January 2019, 12 times more than in the same month a year ago .

Now, before you hop into the comments and start crowing about how you can already get an Xbox One S with bundled games for around about the same price, remember that those are store and retailer driven discounts.

The console, dubbed the rather unfortunate Xbox One S All Digital Edition (or Xbox One SAD Edition), isn't an upgrade. During this time, we've seen a digital transformation across gaming, music, TV and movies. Microsoft is introducing a whole new type of console into its product line with the All-Digital Edition, and one that's created to appeal specifically to a segment of customers that haven't yet hopped aboard the Xbox train. The system costs $250, which Microsoft asserts is $50 below the $299 MSRP of the original Xbox One S, but retailers typically sell the system for as low as $199. But whether you have one subscription or two, the price remains the same. The hardware may be costlier, but Xbox gaming on a Windows PC also carries the distinct advantage of not requiring a Gold subscription to play online.

As a reminder, Microsoft is expected to reveal next-gen Xboxes at its E3 2019 Briefing event on 9 June at 1pm PT.

The Xbox One S All-Digital Edition is now available for pre-order at $249.99 United States dollars, $50 USD less than Xbox One S, and Microsoft expected the disk-less device to remain $50 cheaper than the older version going forward.
