"It has to stop".

Pelosi, who oversees the Democratic-controlled House of Representatives, said the memories of the terrorist attacks on NY and Washington are "sacred ground, and any discussion of it must be done with reverence".

Omar has said she often faces questions doubting her "American-ness". This means that despite Omar's controversial and offensive statements-or perhaps because of them-thousands of Democrats across the country rallied to support her.

She thanked security officials for "their attention to these threats" and accused Trump of fuelling a rise in "violent crimes and other acts of hate by right-wing extremists and white nationalists".

She was discussing civil rights for Muslim Americans in the wake of the 9/11 attacks.

Pelosi confirmed Sunday that she personally spoke with the House Sergeant-at-Arms in order to ensure the safety of Omar, as well as her family and staff.

Ms Omar's and Ms Pelosi's offices had no comment.

"The President's words weigh a ton, and his hateful and inflammatory rhetoric creates real danger", Pelosi said.

As of Monday morning, the president had not deleted the video, which had accrued more than 10 million views.

Largest plane flies over California desert
If fruitful, such a task would be a less expensive approach to release objects into space than rockets terminated from the ground. It's designed with a reinforced center wing to support multiple launch vehicles with a weight up to 500,000 pounds.

Ecuador spread lies about WikiLeaks founder - Julian Assange's lawyer
Assange skateboarded inside the embassy to "kill time", El País said, citing security guards at the embassy. Parents across the world would be cursing at the sight of a skateboard being used inside the house.

Critics accused Omar of downplaying the terror attacks, which killed almost 3,000 people. Rashida Tlaib, was one of the first Muslim women elected to Congress. Omar was joined by some Democratic colleagues, including Tlaib, in condemning the president's video as an incitement to violence. She told the Council on American-Islamic Relations on March 23 that many Muslims saw their civil liberties eroded after the September 11 attacks and were exhausted of being treated as second-class citizens. It remained lower in the feed after Pelosi requested that the video be pulled.

"Mr. President, you have done something that has never been done before-you put a target on the back of a sitting congresswoman and we say to you, 'shame, '" said Jaylani Hussein with CAIR-MN.

Leading members of Omar's centre-left Democrat party have stepped up to defend her, including several presidential candidates. His answer? Hell no, she absolutely deserved it. And they were doing it hypocritically, since this is the kind of thing each side tends to hate when the other side does it.

The two have been attacking each other on social media recently after comments Omar made at an event last month.

Omar repeatedly has pushed fellow Democrats into uncomfortable territory with criticism of Israel and the strength of the Jewish state's influence in Washington.

"She's been very disrespectful to this country, she's been very disrespectful to, frankly, Israel, she is somebody that I think doesn't understand life", Trump told a local reporter in Minneapolis on Monday night. "I think she's extremely unpatriotic and extremely disrespectful to our country".

That quote from Omar went viral last week because when taken out of context, it sounds like a flippant diminishment of violence and terrorism.

She said: "CAIR was founded after 9/11 because they recognized that some people did something".

Sanders commented on "Fox News Sunday" and ABC's "This Week".
