Ecclestone sees electric future as F1 celebrates 1000th race

More than 20 drivers of the 772 who have started a Grand Prix have died behind the wheel, including Senna and Austrian Roland Ratzenburger on one dark weekend in 1994 at the San Marino Grand Prix.

Formula One will celebrate its 1,000th world championship race this weekend at the Chinese Grand Prix in Shanghai, one of the sport's newer tracks, but the milestone requires careful wording. "But I'd be a little bit concerned about Formula E for sure".

In its 999 races, Formula 1 has endured great tragedy, celebrated the greatest champions, and made inconceivable advancements.
