Disney Plus Release Date, Price, & Day One Content Officially Revealed

With Disney+, Disney is looking to leverage its extensive lineup of properties across all of its subsidiaries, including Walt Disney Studios., Marvel Studios and Lucasfilm.

During an investor briefing, Disney revealed various platforms Disney+ will be available on, and Switch is confirmed! Titled Disney+, the service will have just about every Disney movie and TV show, including "The Lion King", "Snow White", and "Mary Poppins". The service will launch November 12, with subscriptions available for $6.99 a month or $69.99 a year, making it the exclusive streaming home of franchises like Star Wars, Pixar, the Marvel Cinematic Universe, The Simpsons, and more.

Captain Marvel will be available on day one of the subscription streaming service's launch, and so will Disney's entire Signature Collection.

Disney is developing numerous new TV shows and films based on some of the studio's most beloved brands, including Star Wars, Pixar, and Marvel.

The company also recently acquired 21st Century Fox, which means it can now develop content based on such franchises as Avatar, The Simpsons and the X-Men. The live-action Lady and the Tramp will arrive on the streamer at launch.
