Things got heated between Celtics guard Marcus Smart and Sixers center Joel Embiid on Wednesday.

The play occurred early in the third quarter when the two players became tangled up. As Smart tried to fight through the screen, he was knocked to the ground by what looked like a little chicken-wing elbow to the midsection from Embiid. Smart was ejected for his role in the fight, while Embiid was issued a technical foul. But this is just a reminder of how important he is. "It's part of a long season".

As observed by Rachel Nichols of ESPN, Embiid used the location of his post-game Instagram post to throw a not-so-subtle jab at Rozier and their rivals.

Using the Celtics, Raptors and Bucks as its measuring stick, Philadelphia has revamped its personnel numerous times throughout the 2018-19 campaign.

Including the playoffs, Embiid was 2-10 all-time against Boston. That began an 8-0 Philadelphia run that got the Sixers back into a game they had trailed by double digits for most of the first half.

The Sixers rallied late to win the game, 118-115.

"I think [beating Boston] gives us more confidence", [Ben] Simmons said after the tense, physical, come-from-behind win.
