It'll be exclusive to Android and iOS, and feature multiple game modes like Team Deathmatch, Search and Destroy, and Free-For-All, in iconic maps like Nuketown, Crash, Hijacked, and more. More information to follow. A beta for the title has also been announced for player to try out this summer and registration is open now.

Blackout is Call of Duty's new battle royale mode that debuted with Black Ops 4 previous year. We know that it's free-to-play, but will Activision monetise through in-game cosmetics or upgrades to weapons and modes is still a mystery.

And Activision is already teasing that fan-favourite weapons, maps, and characters from across the franchise will be included. You will be allowed to create, customize classes, scorestreaks, and change your loadouts just like Black Ops 4 which is available on major platforms like Xbox One, PC and PlayStation 4.

If playing one of the many different Battle Royale games available for iOS and Android doesn't float your boat, we have good news.

Call of Duty is pushing gaming boundaries in an all-new mobile version of the AAA franchise. It will include maps, modes, weapons and characters from throughout the franchise's history, such as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and the Black Ops series.

"Developed in conjunction with Tencent, the game features the hallmarks of exceptional environments, incredible action, and intense competitive firefights no matter where you are in the world" Activision adds in a new statement. Those two games did not pick up with many players, and Activision even shut down the studio behind the Call of Duty: Strike Team mobile game years ago.

A real Call of Duty game is finally coming to mobile.

Sadly, there is no release date yet, but anyone can pre-register "to stay up-to-date on all the latest intel, learn about opportunities to join future Beta tests, and get the chance to earn in-game rewards".
