Consistent updates have made Fire TV a serious contender here, with Amazon bragging that it has the "broadest cross-provider search of any streaming media player". The US retailer has just announced that starting this week, Amazon Fire TV users will be able to access Apple Music from their devices.

In fact, if you've already enabled Apple Music on an Amazon Echo, then your Fire TV device will automatically be able to use Apple Music. These launches are a clear sign that the tech behemoth is looking to draw as many customers as it can to increase subscription of its various services, including Apple Music. Well, as long as you ask Alexa, of course. That skill now enables the service on Amazon's TV streaming platform as well.

Pick up the Fire TV remote, hit the mic button, and tell Fire TV to "Play Apple Music".

This is just another small step in Apple's transition to an increasingly services-oriented business, with those services available on a growing number of devices and ecosystems. Late previous year, Apple Music began streaming support for the Echo as well. There's no word on when or if Apple Music will be available on Google Home. At CES earlier this year, the company announced that AirPlay 2 and Homekit support will soon come to a host of smart TVs, and Samsung's TVs would even add the iTunes video store.

The news of this upgrade comes as Apple recently announced it now has over 50 million subscribers to Music.

To set-up your Fire TV Stick or Fire TV Stick 4K, you'll need a compatible TV (HD or 4K) with an HDMI input port, an internet connection, and an Amazon account.
