Love Island's Michael Thalassitis has died, aged 26

Thalassitis' manager confirmed his death to The Daily Mail.

The Love Island star, who was nicknamed Muggy Mike, was found in a forest near his home in Essex on Friday, according to reports. Police have not commented on his death.

He also appeared on the reality show Celebs Go Dating in 2018.

News of his untimely death have hit other Love Island stars hard.

Johnny Mitchell, one of his Love Island friends, posted a long tribute to him on Instagram.

"I genuinely can't believe what I'm seeing here", he wrote alongside a picture of the two. An absolute hero and a legend and someone I personally looked up to, always full of so much positivity and charisma. I have no words. My heart is with your family. "Rest in Peace", wrote another.

Thalassitis competed on the third season of the British reality show back in 2017, where he became known as "Muggy Mike". Please stop brandishing that. His name was Mike Thalassitis, and every inch of my heart goes out to his family and friends. "A lovely bloke gone far too soon".

Stevenage FC, a soccer team Thalassitis played for during his career, shared their own tribute.

Shocked fans took to Twitter to express their sadness at the news.

The statement read: "As you have all heard of the sudden passing of Danny Cutts, his close group of friends have decided on starting a go fund me page to help take the added stress of having to pay for the return of his body and funeral expenses off of his family".

Mike had also appeared in Celebs Go Dating and was in a relationship with TOWIE's Megan McKenna before breaking up a year ago.

The Daily Mail reported the pair were together for seven months before calling it quits past year.
