Things You Need to Know - Players Championship

There were concerns when Woods decided not to risk playing at Bay Hill last week as a result of an injury that had been troubling him "for a few weeks".

Woods, who will play at TPC Sawgrass after missing the Arnold Palmer Invitational last week because of a neck strain, says he doesn't have a preference, March or May, "Because I've won them both".

Woods chalked up the ailment to his fused back, saying that with his swing, the forces have to move somewhere and in this situation, that happened to be his neck. Adam Scott is the only other player in the field to win in March (2004), as the event has shifted back to this time of year after being played 12 straight years in May.

"I'm trying to keep up", Fleetwood joked. "I'm 43 with four back surgeries". So if it does firm up a little bit, even if you're hitting 7-iron into the first, I think it's going to require some really good driving and some really good irons.

"It's been a great season so far, I've had some good results, but this is the best field of the year", said Hadwin. There are times over the years when I'd push it through and I've won a few tournaments that way, but also I've cost myself a few years here and there'.

"It's a very simple formula here", stated Woods. "I was in such a nice zone for the week and I remember my attitude - especially the final day - not bothering me", he said. It was starting to affect every aspect of his golf game. I've got to pick my days and I've got to pick my hours. That's how it is going to be going forward. On top of that, there are times I just can't do it. The wind's going to probably - actually I haven't looked at what it's going to be in the tournament, but predominantly in a complete different direction. "I had to shut it down for the week and get ready for this week".

With the neck corrected, Woods also wanted to ensure his stroke was in order and had short-game coach Matt Killen working with him.

Last but certainly not least, I will end the article the ever popular sample lineup we like to do here at FantasyCPR. I feel like it was hard to read the greens.

"It started to get a little tighter and tighter as I played more holes in Mexico", Woods said.

"We don't have to worry about going through the fairway, right?" he asked Jimmy Johnson. I've had my share of runs where I've putted well. In three PGA Tour events this season, Woods has finished in the top-20 each time out, including a T-10 at last month's WGC-Mexico Championship.

The rules of golf have been in the spotlight after new ones were introduced for 2019, with the biggest update in 50 years leading some players to being openly critical of and in some cases hostile towards certain tournament rulings. You still need to drive it in the fairway, but I think it's in ideal condition and it definitely sets up better for me like this.
