Microsoft has announced that the latest version of Skype for Web is now live with HD calling, call recording, and a new Chat Media Gallery.

The aforementioned Chrome and Microsoft Edge browser clients are supported by Skype for Web, but if you're using Safari, Opera or Firefox, you're out of luck at the moment.

These new features are now available for all desktop devices that run on Windows 10 and Mac OSX10.12 or higher with the latest versions of Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge. The platform allows users to enjoy the benefits of Skype, without having to use their standalone app.

Once you select a new browser, just refresh the Skype for Web page and everything should work exactly like it should. The major change of this update is the addition of HD-video calling features which will help many Skype users to make video calling at a better quality than ever. The update also brings a built-in call recording feature.

But wait! In a freaky twist, OKC fouled Al-Farouq Aminu as they fought for the rebound and Aminu was awarded two more free throws. It was a highly entertaining game, and certainly set the stage for a great series should these two teams meet in the playoffs.

As well, the new Skype for Web product features the software's notification panel, which makes it easy to catch up on whatever took place while away. This feature sounds a lot like the one that WhatsApp already has. In what seems to be a puzzling omission, the web app no longer supports Chrome OS or Linux.

There's also a new feature that lets you search within individual conversations.Users can now find messages in the current conversation by typing the word or phrase you want to find in the search box. An option called the Chat Media Gallery has also been added to the browser version in which users looking for a particular file, links, and photos which were previously shared in a conversation be it a day or a month before, can easily find that particular photo, files etc.

Your machines will also need to be running Windows 10 or macOS 10.12 Sierra or higher in order to have access to the tool.
