Denver Weather: Stormy Week Ahead To Include Fog, Wind, Rain And Snow

A slight reprieve in conditions is expected on Monday, but the Met Office has issued two further yellow weather warnings for wind later in the week.

The forecast also details spells of snow early on Sunday morning over some central and northwestern parts of the United Kingdom, while high winds will affect southern England.

The Met Office says some travel disruption from the snow is likely from early in the morning and that some roads and railways are likely to be affected. 20-40 mm of rainfall is expected quite widely with 50-60 mm possible over higher ground in Cumbria.

According to Met Eireann's forecast for the coming days, tonight will be blustery with clear spells and occasional showers.

A Status Orange wind warning has been issued for Donegal, Leitrim, Mayo and Sligo as storm Gareth approaches, westerly winds will reach mean speeds of 65 to 75km/h with damaging gusts reaching 110 to 130km/h. Although temperatures will be near average for the time of year it will often feel colder due to the strong winds.

The warning has also been extended northwards, across northern England and now also includes parts of southwest Scotland.

Running into the rest of the week and it looks like Monday will be a pretty dry and bright day, only to then dip again on Tuesday and Wednesday with more snow, showers and windy weather.

The overnight snow comes as an active jet stream from the Atlantic hurtles directly across the United Kingdom bringing strong winds, torrential downpours, and sleet.

During the warning periods wind gusts could reach highs of 70mph in Northern Ireland, while England could see gusts up to 65mph in coastal areas.
