With the studio already revealing that they have plans for the game to continue for another decade, it's clear that a ton of additional content is headed our way and earlier this week, the first new character leaked onto the web. Also, there were silhouettes of a couple of unreleased legends shown off in a previous trailer, and the screenshots of this character seem to line up perfectly with one of them.

As many have predicted, though, it doesn't look like the pinging system is the only thing that Fortnite is borrowing from Apex Legends.

Octane's apparent debut is on the Apex Legends subreddit with over 20,000 upvotes, though the image itself links is watermarked for "childz_pl4y" - an Instagram account that's since been set to private. It is believed that the respawn system in Fortnite, if implemented, will work almost the same way it works in Apex Legends. That said, skeptics like Reddit user ynonA have gone equally viral by postulating that Octane's leak is just a ploy for Reddit karma.

It can be argued that Fortnite's battle royale was built out copying a style that another successful game was doing. Epic isn't afraid to look to what works in other popular games and see if they work in Fortnite.

It feels like forever ago since we saw the comparisons and headbutting against then-gaming sensation PUBG and the new Fortnite battle royale.
