Apex Legends is doing so well it's boosted Titanfall 2's player numbers big time, and now Respawn co-founder Vince Zampella has announced the game has already surpassed 25 million players.

Apex Legends still has a long way to go to catch up to Fortnite's dominance.

Simple math: it's pretty likely someone you know spent part of this past weekend playing the new "Apex Legends" shooter game from Electronic Arts, Inc. Despite the sheer number of battle royale titles that have launched over the previous year, none of them could really hold a candle to Fortnite, at least not as far as Twitch viewership was concerned.

CEO Andrew Wilson has confirmed that EA is "looking at" a mobile port of the free-to-play battle royale game. Dextero points out that Apex Legends had an average viewership of 183,089 over the seven day period ending on February 10.

Much of Fortnite's success can be attributed to its support for so many platforms; it can now be played on Nintendo Switch and even Android and iOS, where it has no competition from EA for now. And of course, it's a true free-to-play game where you only need to spend money if you want characters and items quickly. A huge missed opportunity for COD: Blackout, not for Apex. This is still exciting news for mobile gamers, though.

Mostly quality-of-life UI tweaks paired with smooth, accessible but competitive gameplay, are the kickers that make Apex Legends so attractive.

Apex Legends is an exciting, smooth experience shaking up the battle royale community. But more choice is usually a good thing, especially when Apex Legends is a tad bare at the moment. However, according to Games Radar today, Redditors have reported that the number of Titanfall 2's concurrent players has risen across the board since Apex Legends debuted. It reached more than 1 million players in under eight hours and hit 10 million in less than 72.

What happens when Epic Games implements the Apex features mentioned above into Fortnite?
