Ball appeared to celebrate after he received the news.

During an appearance of ESPN's "The Jump", Brian Windhorst revealed that the Pelicans never had any intention of making a trade with the Lakers, even though they reportedly had interest in Ball. The oldest Ball brother has been out for the last couple of weeks because of a high-ankle sprain.

Ball is averaging over five assists a game, but he still struggles to score the basketball at only 9.9 points per game.

Angry over his son labeled as a tradable player, LaVar Ball made a decision to take shots at both LeBron James and Luke Walton, saying that they were the reason why Lonzo was not playing up to par. In the interview, Ball said, "Luke Walton turned him into a loser".

According to Mackel, LaVar "wrecked" any chance of a trade between the Lakers and Pelicans for Davis being completed because of how outspoken he was about not wanting Lonzo to play in New Orleans.
