As Virginians were trying to process their shock surrounding Governor Northams actions, they were met with two more controversies within the state government. President Trump referred to Northam's interview during his State of the Union speech, where he bashed the embattled governor for stating "he would execute a baby after birth". Now the party will have to decide whether to stick with its principles or retain its political power. Lamont Bagby, said Wednesday. "The stakes are very real now because the line of succession goes through the other side".

Initially, he admitted he was in the photo without saying which costume he was wearing.

Meanwhile, the Rev. Al Sharpton said in a fiery speech at historically black Virginia Union University that Northam and Herring must step down over their blackface admissions, and the allegations against Fairfax should be investigated thoroughly.

On Wednesday, the Democrat who would succeed Northam, Lt. Gov. Justin Fairfax, reeled from a detailed statement released by a woman who accused him of sexually assaulting her 15 years ago. Kirk Cox, 61, the Republican speaker of the Virginia House of Delegates, is No. 3 in line to succeed the governor. That's a different dynamic from recent efforts by Democrats to clean house.

Despite Democrats' professed commitment to root out bigotry and intolerance, Northam's party might be motivated to rally behind him to avoid the prospect of Republicans assuming the governorship. Tyson said that, on the third day of the convention, (July 28, 2004), she agreed to accompany Fairfax to pick up some papers at his hotel room in order to get some "fresh air" outside of the convention. She has no political motivations, she added, and is a "proud Democrat".

Democrats did not seem to pass that test Wednesday. Abrams's historic candidacy-she would have been the first black female governor in US history-and the contention over the campaign-she insists Kemp suppressed votes although the race had high turnout-made it one of the most watched races in 2018. "I have known Professor Tyson for approximately a decade and she is a friend".

Another huge weekend in Premier League as title race hots up
Arsenal also leapt above Chelsea with a routine win over Huddersfield. "That is what has delighted me to the most this season". We are used to have the ball possession and on Sunday it will be very hard , so maybe we have to defend lower.

Status Orange wind warning issued as Storm Erik looms
Before then, exposed coasts of Northern Ireland could see gales of 70mph while heavy rain could lead to flooding in Scotland . A British Airways plane has been filmed being forced to abandon its landing as strong winds from Storm Erik batter the UK.

Australia and US seize largest ever meth shipment
According to authorities in the Australian state of Victoria, around 2 tons of meth is consumed in the state every year. Photos released by police showed the drugs hidden inside electronic equipment and loaded onto wooden pallets.

A source working with Tyson's legal team, Ford's former counsel firm Katz Marshall and Banks, tells CNN that Tyson "has retained and is consulting with her legal team about next steps".

And yet, no major Democratic presidential candidate - or other party leader - has called for Fairfax's resignation. "This can be painful", Castro said. "We will learn more about that", Massachusetts Sen.

"I believe Dr. Vanessa Tyson", said Jennifer Wexton, a freshman congresswoman from Northern Virginia. "But it doesn't change the fact that Northam needs to resign".

The one-two punch of revelations on Wednesday about Herring and Fairfax left many Democrats in Richmond in a state of shock, dismayed by their top elected officials and appalled that these were the men representing them in the upper echelons of state politics. Northam's inner circle was taken aback by how quickly national figures piled on him. POSSIBLE REDEMPTION Late on Thursday, the state's congressional delegation released a statement indicating a consensus of forgiveness might be emerging around Herring. The Associated Press typically does not identify those who say they were sexually assaulted, but the 42-year-old college professor from California issued the statement in her name.

"I think there's a rightful hesitation about removal from office because, obviously, you have to consider that to some degree you're overturning an election", the Times-Dispatch quoted Cox as saying Monday.
