They had resisted the idea of trading Gasol or Mike Conley for a few years, but their big swoon this season made them finally face reality; trying to build around that duo no longer made sense.

For a fevered few minutes there on Thursday afternoon, it looked like the National Basketball Association trade deadline music would stop and Masai Ujiri would still be looking for a chair.

"It's a business", the All-Star point guard reasons. However, the Grizzlies have begun dealing ahead of the 1 PM MT trade deadline. With an excess of young big men, the Magic likely won't want to spend the money it'll take to retain Vucevic, especially after signing Aaron Gordon last summer.

The Pistons' offer, as of Wednesday afternoon, was Reggie Jackson and a first-round pick, according to TJ Jones of The Athletic. Most of the team's rumored targets have already been traded to others teams.

It had even been reported earlier today that a trade with the Utah Jazz seemed destined to happen. "I just know one thing, we have a good team, we have a good future in front of us".

There's no information now available on which Starbucks was involved or what they received as compensation in the deal. They retained their two prized young forwards, Pascal Siakam and OG Anunoby, both of whom would be expected to be the centrepieces of a rebuild effort should the Raptors' fortunes go pear-shaped sometime between April and July.
