Just recently we saw images seemingly showing a triple-lens iPhone and now another report claims that one of Apple's upcoming iPhone 11 handsets will have three rear cameras.

Though Apple won't debut its new 2019 iPhones for another nine months, the company is already well into the development cycle for them.

Finally, the name of the new iPhone is still a mystery, because after the iPhone Xs, Apple could choose to continue with the Roman numeration (iPhone XI), return to the numbers (iPhone 11) or completely change its name. Apart from the camera and a faster processor, we are likely going to see Apple debut some AR features with the devices as well.

Offering what sound like iterative updates in 2019 could prove to be a controversial decision on Apple's part, explains the report.

Early reports suggest that Apple is, yet again, planning to release three new iPhones this year. The company plans to introduce new camera features, including a triple rear camera for the forthcoming flagship model and a double rear camera for the other two devices in development.

While sales of the iPhone XR have reportedly been sluggish and WSJ says Apple isn't too keen on the prospect of releasing another entry-level iPhone, it may be too late for the company to switch up its plans. It'll reportedly sell the 64GB iPhone 8 for 3,899 yuan ($578/£450/AU$800), compared to the 5,099 yuan ($756/£590AU$1,045) Apple price.

Last year, Apple released the most expensive iPhone in its history.

They also tend to feature on higher-end Android smartphones, something Apple may be reacting to as sales fall in China and India as consumers prefer their own homegrown, full-featured Android smartphones. Meanwhile, Apple chose to troll competitors by placing user security and privacy-related ads around CES venues, and TV makers including Samsung announced that AirPlay 2 support would be available inside new TVs.
