Rami Malek 'beyond moved' at best actor Golden Globes win

This year's ceremony is once again being broadcast by NBC, with Andy Samberg and Sandra Oh at the helm of the 76th annual event.

It was a night of celebration for the cast and crew of Bohemian Rhapsody when the movie took out the Best Film (Drama) award at the 2019 Golden Globes.

Veteran actress Glenn Close won the Golden Globe for her role in The Wife, beating the favorite Lady Gaga for her role in A Star is Born.

Last night, Bohemian Rhapsody won multiple Golden Globes, but as the recipients-first Rami Malek and then producer Graham King-went through the usual "thank you's" to people who worked on the film, both noticeably left out the film's original director, Bryan Singer. Malek beat Bradley Cooper ("A Star Is Born"), Willem Dafoe ("At Eternity's Gate"), Lucas Hedges ("Boy Erased") and John David Washington ("BlacKkKlansman"). "And I challenge everyone out there who is in a position of power, in all industries, I challenge you to challenge yourself and stand with us in solidarity and do the same".

But Rhys lost the award for best actor in a TV series to Richard Madden, who won for his role as a British security officer in the BBC/Netflix political thriller "Bodyguard". Since many of us can't be bothered with the awards anyway (especially when numerous shows aren't aired locally yet), we thought it'd be more entertaining to focus on the amusing stuffs instead.

In television, the big winners were Cold War spy thriller "The Americans", limited series "The Assassination of Gianni Versace", and new Netflix comedy "The Kominsky Method".
