There is Nintendo's Wii U as well, though after this nothing else comes to mind.

Still, the design looks ultra modern and very slick, however, its vertical posture puts it more in line with a PC and less so with a traditional console in a visual sense. Still, it seems that Bell and his company are set on making a splash in the console space, as today the enthusiastic CEO shared the first images of the Mad Box on Twitter.

What do you make of the new images? In a landscape that has been tumultuous for even a company like Valve when it tried to its own lineup of Steam Boxes, hopefully Slightly Mad can find more success with the Mad Box, assuming it ever sees the light of day.

Slightly Mad Studios are still in early talks with manufacturers of components and have confirmed they have the "designs specced out in detail".

United States team to visit China for trade talks
The longer their trade war lasts, the longer companies and consumers will feel the pain of higher-priced imports and exports. Hassett said the recent slowdown in China's economy is equivalent to a recession in the U.S.

Just yesterday, Project Cars developer Slightly Mad Studios announced a new gaming console entering the marketplace in three years' time called the "Mad Box" console. Although the specifications haven't been revealed, Mad Dog is targeting a whopping 180fps at 4K, which translates into 90fps per eye in VR. He predicted that the ambitious console will be released in about 3 and a half years and will align with the power of fast and powerful PCs by that time.

The Mad Box will reportedly be a standalone system created to compete with whatever Microsoft and Sony offer at the time - presumably an Xbox Two of sorts, and a PS5.

Bell wouldn't say when he expects the console to be available, or the final specs - but is adamant that it won't need crowdfunding. Adorning the console is the monster logo the studio uses.

2018 saw numerous changes to a lot of gaming hardware, including consoles.
