Krispy Kreme truck destroyed in fire, Kentucky police mourn

Officers from the Lexington Police Department in Kentucky were full of emotion and sans doughnuts after a box truck fire.

While the driver was able to safely escape before fire crews arrived and flames engulfed the truck, the doughnuts didn't make it.

Lexington police shared images of saddened police officers standing in front of the scorched vehicle on their social media accounts.

Police are still investigating the cause of the fire. The post was accompanied by the comment, "No words".

"We are so deeply sorry for your loss", officers with Massachusetts' Stoughton Police Department wrote in a tweet.

"We're thinking of you during this hard time...and have more doughnuts on the way!" the company tweeted Tuesday.
