Following in the footsteps of its sub-brand, Honor, Huawei has announced the Nova 4, a mid-range version of the Honor View 20.

The screen, however, is what will make the Nova 4 noticeable, so let's start with that.

We've been hearing rumours and leaks about the upcoming Huawei Nova 4 doughnut phone (.cos it's got a hole) for weeks now.

The nova 2s tried the Mate 10 approach with a fingerprint scanner and a big screen on the front while running the flagship chipset Kirin 960.

CHINESE PHONE MAKER Huawei has officially shown off the Nova 4, its first smartphone to feature a "punch-hole" front-facing camera. The 48MP rear camera does beat the flagship's 40MP lens, but whether it performs better will remain to be seen.

What Obamacare ruling could mean for your health care
Our guess is that even the right-leaning Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals judges will overturn Judge O'Connor on this point. O'Connor said the tax bill passed by Congress last December effectively rendered the entire health law unconstitutional.

Theresa May rules out second Brexit referendum
On Thursday about 10 Labour MPs met David Lidington - who is Mrs May's de facto second-in-command - to argue for another public vote.

Other specs include 8GB of RAM, 128GB of onboard storage, and a 3,750 mAh lithium-polymer battery (non removable, of course). This hole houses the Nova 4's 25MP front-facing camera, while the Nova 4's rear comes with 48MP + 16MP + 2MP sensors (there's also a model available with a 20MP + 16MP + 2MP setup).

The Nova 4 is likely to come pre-loaded with Android 9 Pie-based EMUI 9 custom skin out of the box. The phone comes with a 6.40-inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 1080 pixels by 2310 pixels at a PPI of 398 pixels per inch. It will cost 3,100 CNY (around $450) for a variant with a 20MP main camera and 3,400 CNY (around $490) for the 48MP shooter. The phone also comes packed with several features like EIS, 4K video support, AI beauty, 3D Qmoji, PDAF, among other things.

The selfie camera is a 25-megapixel, f/2.0 sensor on both variants.

It has the same gradient design on its glass back like the Nova 3 and Nova 3i. Nova 4 comes with a triple rear camera configuration, and bears a resemblance to Samsung Galaxy A8s, launched last week. The battery also supports 18W fast charging.
