A funeral for the former president was held at the St. Martin's Episcopal Church in Houston, Texas, on Thursday, featuring live performances from some of his favorite musical artists. He praised Bush as a "truly attractive human being" who had the "courage of a warrior but the greater courage of a peacemaker". Then-Vice President Bush was a big fan of the group, and through the years they became friends. Ostensibly, that's because the family already had a ready-made former president waiting in the wings: the fallen leader's son, whose eulogy collapsed briefly into tears as he imagined his father reunited with his late wife Barbara and daughter Robin, lost to leukemia in 1953.

Thursday's flavor was distinctly Texas.

Bush died November 30 at his home in Houston. We look at the way USA media facilitated the war on Iraq with journalist John "Rick" MacArthur, president and publisher of Harper's Magazine and the author of the book "Second Front: Censorship and Propaganda in the 1991 Gulf War".

The US President's awkward exchange came after Trump tweeted about oil prices as mourners gathered in Washington for the funeral.

Brian Mulroney, Progressive Conservative prime minister from 1984 to 1993, said that Bush asked him to speak about three years ago.

He told them they were his favorite country group.

It was not clear how many crew members were on each of the planes. "There is no additional information available at this time". The planes involved are a KC-130 and an F/A 18, carrying a total of seven personnel, USA media quoted officials as saying.

Save millions of lives by tackling climate change, says WHO
Climate change is running faster than we are, and we must catch up sooner rather than later before it is too late. Over the next two weeks, delegates will try to finalize a plan to limit global warming, but expectations are low.

Duane Allen of the Oak Ridge Boys says Bush had personally requested that the group sing "Amazing Grace" at his funeral.

"Dynasty is always a tough word", she said of the Bush family legacy, "but the family basically will have a position in the country of being a family that cares about public service". "He knew exactly what he was doing by opting not to exclude Trump from his funeral; he controlled the uncontrollable", he concluded.

Donald and Melania Trump shared a front row pew at Washington National Cathedral with past presidents Barack Obama, Bill Clinton, Jimmy Carter and their wives as an honor guard brought Bush's flag-draped casket into the packed prayer hall.

The Trumps greeted the Obamas, shaking hands with them when they sat next to them at Bush's funeral. "He's a amusing man", she said. Those who travel "the high road of humility in Washington, D.C.", he added pointedly, "are not bothered by heavy traffic".

"My siblings and I refer to the guys in this group as 'brothers from other mothers, '" said Bush, eliciting laughs from the audience, including Bill and Hillary Clinton. Apart from courteous nods and some handshakes, there was little interaction between Trump and the others.
