With a slow start to their season morphing into an overall putrid campaign rapidly, the Washington Wizards are left frantically searching for answers. Previously neither guard had been included in trade talks and Washington's preference, per Wojnarowski, remains reshaping the team around Wall and Beal.

The Blazers returned the favor in Washington on Sunday in a 119-109 loss for the Wizards that was more lopsided than the final score indicates.

The Wizards are reportedly making all players available in trade discussions, including All-Star guards John Wall and Bradley Beal, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

The Wizards are now 5-11, fourth place in the Southeast Division.

While the team would prefer to keep the star-studded backcourt of Wall and Beal, "poor play among key teammates is limiting their trade value and paralyzing the Wizards' efforts to make meaningful changes to a roster that no longer appears functional together, league sources said".

Despite their openness to listen on Wall and Beal, Wojnarowski notes that they are not actively being shopped. Beal is likely the more attractive piece, as he is not only younger than Wall, but also the more polished offensive player on a friendlier contract. Starting in 2019-20, Wall is slated to make $38.15 million, and by 2022-23, his age 33 season, that number jumps to $47.3 million.

Phoenix has been a popular suggestion due to their clear need for a point guard, stated desire to begin competing now, and situation as one of those teams not likely to be a top destination in the near future.

"Washington had hopes that forwards Otto Porter and Kelly Oubre could be centerpieces of deals that could return an impact third star, but those players have fetched minimal interest on the market". Wall is a five-time All-Star who has been a favorite of ownership.
