In September, the Trump administration cancelled United States dollars 300 million in military aid to Pakistan for not doing enough against terror groups active on its soil.

Retired Adm. William McRaven on Sunday stood by his previous statement that President Donald Trump's attacks on the news media represent "the greatest threat to democracy" after the President dismissed him as a "Hillary Clinton backer" in an interview that aired on Fox News.

McRaven, a four-star admiral who retired in 2014, is an outspoken critic of the United States president and previous year called Trump's attacks on the news media possibly "the greatest threat to democracy in my lifetime".

Wallace had brought up McRaven's media comments as he discussed Trump's penchant to call reporters the "enemy of the people" and label negative news reports about his administration "fake news". "When you undermine the people's right to a free press and freedom of speech and expression, then you threaten the Constitution and all for which it stands".
