We disagree with Apple but Android use purely on merit, says Facebook

The founder and head of Facebook mark Zuckerberg has required all top managers of the company to use only Android smartphones. "I think it's the most ridiculous concept".

The 56-year-old actor shared his latest critical cartoon after the New York Times published a report on Wednesday about how Facebook has handled a number of recent scandals.

The social media giant also applauded Apple's competing operating system - Android, touting it as the most popular OS in the world.

Android has an extensive user base in Europe, Asia, Latin America along with several other pockets the world over.

Zuckerberg is said to have justified the decision by saying more Facebook customers use Android than Apple. This may be because the executives are ignoring Zuckerberg's order, or because they use different phones for personal and business use.

On Thursday, Facebook issued a lengthy blog post in response to a series of privacy scandals named after them.

He repeated that refrain in September in a statement on Apple's privacy policy. Although both the Bharatiya Janata Party and Indian National Congress were reported to have hired Cambridge Analytica for election campaign-related data mining, there have been no grave consequences for Facebook here. In the MSNBC interview, Cook even claimed that Apple always prioritizes privacy over profit.

And to make matter worse for Zuckerberg, Cook had clarified that his company did not consider consumer data a source of income. "We've elected not to do that". "Whoever's telling you that - it's a bunch of bunk", Cook told Vice.

Facebook has had a tough few years because of the controversies over user data it has been involved in.

Facebook shut down Paper, a stand-alone iOS app that was part News Feed, part newsreader, in 2016, two years after its launch.

Further, the survey found that 70% of employees were proud to work at Facebook, a drop from 87% past year. "A frustration I have is that a lot of people increasingly seem to equate an advertising business model with somehow being out of alignment with your customers", Zuckerberg says.
