Ariana Grande's debut performance of "thank u, next", her breakup anthem that succeeds at being both petty and empowering, was a pretty fine reflection of her life of late.

Dressed in white, the 25-year-old stayed on a "First Wives Club" theme as she and her dancers performed on stage, which resembled a wedding reception.

Ariana Grande kept it very real during her Wednesday performance on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show"!

Ariana's dance routine was a tribute to the classic Hollywood film "First Wives Club", however Ari's chair stunt saw her stumble and nearly fall to the ground, as you can see in the video above.

Not surprisingly, she elides the song's chorus "I'm so f-ing grateful for my ex" to "I'm so, I'm so grateful" on "Ellen".

Ariana's promo for new song "thank u, next" appears to be based all around classic films, with the artwork for the single being based on a book from cult film "Mean Girls".

The lyrics caused the singer to get a bit choked up, recalling her parents' relationship drama, but once again, she managed to make it through, to a strong finish, which featured her busting out some dance moves before exiting up the stairs of the studio.

Apparently Pete Davidson's statement on their split on Saturday Night Live didn't blindside Ariana Grande because she knew he would bring it up.

What we love most about this video is that Ariana could have totally redone the whole thing, but chose not to. Throughout the rest of the performance, she keeps fighting back giggles.

"I thought we were supposed to exit", She laughed. "We're happy that you came back", Ellen said before announcing that everyone was going home with a copy of Ariana's album, Sweetener.
