Garbine Muguruza will face Wang Qiang in the last four of the WTA Elite Trophy in Zhuhai after Madison Keys pulled out.

Ashleigh Barty recorded the biggest victory of her career after securing the WTA Elite Trophy against home favourite Qiang Wang in Zhuhai.

The Australian Woman, Ashleigh Barty, rallied past the defending champion Julia Goerges, to reserve a berth in the finals of the WTA Elite Trophy.

"I'm looking forward to a bit of holiday and then getting ready for the Australian summer", Barty, 22, said.

While Barty flourished, Wang sprayed the ball wide and long all too often and, although she got back into the set, nothing was going to stop her opponent moving ahead.

Barty began her week by losing five of the first six games in her round-robin opener and fell to a defeat against Aryna Sabalenka.

Bale, Vinicius, Ramos and Plzen away — Real Madrid round-up
The win lifted Real Madrid provisionally from ninth place up to sixth in the standings on 17 points. Gareth Bale was given particularly rough treatment from the home fans when he was substituted .

The ninth seed grew into the semi-final match against Germany's Goerges, seeded fifth, and dominated the third set to book her place in Sunday's showdown in Zhuhai.

Barty, who topped the tour this year for the percentage of service points won (level with Goerges on 63.3%) before the tournament, has now hit 295 aces this season, behind only tour leader Goerges (484), Karolina Pliskova (393) and Bertens (325).

The win makes it her third overall singles title and second for 2018 following her outstanding run at Nottingham in June.

"It's been a great finish in China this week", Barty said after Sunday's win.

However, it was the Australian who came out on top to take the only break of the second set in the seventh game, before serving out her second tournament win of the season after her victory at the Nature Valley Open in June.

Wang replaced Madison Keys at the eleventh hour, after the American who won the Azalea Group was forced to withdraw due to a left knee injury. "I think my family sent me that article,"Barty revealed in the post-match press conference after she beat Garcia".
