Yemen's Houthi rebels said they launched a drone air attack on a royal Saudi air force base in the Saudi southern border province on Saturday, rebel-run Al-Masirah TV reported. Archeologists have been busy since mid-October, digging part of a field near the central Greek town of Atalanti, 94 miles northwest of Athens.

"We must do all we can to maximize the chances for success", Guterres further said, calling for commercial and humanitarian imports of food, fuel and other essentials to be allowed into Yemen without restrictions. Speaking on the sixth day of the search, Muhammad Syaugi said that two engines and more landing gear had been found. The rebels manipulate aid distribution by providing lists of beneficiaries and sometimes divert aid to their supporters.

Conflict-ravaged Yemen has become a "living hell" for children with thousands dying every year from malnutrition and easily preventable diseases, a top United Nations official said on Sunday.

Her statement repeated a United Nations warning that half the population of Yemen - some 14 million people - could soon be on the brink of starvation.

The Saudi-led coalition had not yet commented on the Houthis' statement. "More than half" of the 14 million people, at serious risk of starvation in the impoverished country, are children, Cappelaere told AFP.

Around 40 percent of the 400,000 are located in Hodeida and its surroundings.

While in Hodeida, the lifeline of the Houthi-controlled north, Cappelaere said he learned that families can't make it to the hospital because of constant fear of airstrikes and shelling or because they have no money to pay for transportation.

He said the situation is a "living hell" for all Yemeni children, singling out the death last week of 7-year-old Amal Hussein who had suffered from severe malnutrition.

Back in June, coalition forces, backed by armed militia loyal to Hadi, launched a full-scale offensive against the Houthi-held Hudaydah, which is now under a tight siege imposed by the invaders and through whose docks over 70 percent of Yemen's imports used to pass.

"It's high time for authorities from both sides to take responsibility and enable that assistance without any conditions, without any hurdles", he said.
