The Mac mini is back with a much needed update

In Canada, the Mac Mini starts at $999.

The starting configuration includes a 3.66 GHz 4-core i3 processor, 128GB of SD storage, and 8GB of memory at $799. Probably the biggest announcement for computer enthusiasts was that of the new Mac Mini, after all it has been quite some time since this range was updated. In terms of storage, every Mac mini has SSDs up to 4X faster and capacities up to 2TB, which is double capacity of the previous model.

APPLE HAS GIVEN THE MAC MINI A REFRESH with more ports and updated internals, prompting Apple to spout it's the "most powerful Mac Mini ever made".

The new Mac Mini now maxes out at 64 GB at 2,666 MHz (SO-DIMMS). You now get quad-core processors as standard, significantly faster graphics, all the memory you can shake at stick at, and so much more. This is an update that was a long time coming, but it seems the wait was worth it. Lastly Apple wanted to highlight that this laptop is made from "a custom, Apple-designed aluminium alloy that enables the use of 100 percent recycled aluminium for the first time".

The new package will be transported to the Federal Bureau of Investigation laboratory in Quantico for analysis. CNN is reporting that another suspicious package addressed to CNN studios has been discovered.

Like the new MacBook Air, it launches on November 7. With all the bells and whistles, the Mac Mini comes in at a staggering $4199. It also comes with four Thunderbolt 3 ports, an Apple T2 Security Chip and a 10Gb Ethernet option.

Under the hood of the rather compact chassis, Apple is offering the Mac Mini with the latest four and six-core eighth-gen Intel Core processors, offering more performance and integrated GPU power than the old Mac Mini.

At the moment we only know that the price of the entry-level Mac mini 2018 will be $799 / £799 (around AU$1,120).

The Mac mini 2018 is packed with modern hardware that makes it a brilliant mini computer, so if you've been tempted to pick up the tiny Mac, the Mac mini 2018 is definitely worth the money.
