Mega Millions posts second largest jackpot ever

At $654 million, the Mega Millions jackpot is the second largest in that particular game's history and the nation's fourth largest ever. Friday's numbers were 4, 24, 46, 61, 70 and Mega Ball 7.

And then there's this: Hitting the Mega Millions jackpot is a tad less likely than having President Donald Trump follow you on Twitter if he selects one account randomly from all accounts (about 1 in 261,000,000 tries), according to Cleveland19.com. The odds of winning this jackpot are 1 in 302 million.

The Mega Millions is played in 44 states, Washington D.C. and the U.S Virgin Islands.

Players need to purchase their tickets by 6:59 p.m. tonight in order to be eligible for the record-breaking Mega Millions jackpot.

That means the jackpot for Friday's drawing is now at least $868 million or a cash lump sum of $494.5 million. The Powerball jackpot is slightly lower, at $345 million.
