Marvel's Iron Fist has been cancelled by Netflix after two seasons.

TVLine's handy Streaming TV Scorecard has been updated to reflect Iron Fist's cancellation.

The series, which starred Finn Jones in the title role, was a pillar of Marvel's Netflix output alongside shows Daredevil, Jessica Jones, The Punisher and Luke Cage. The second season's consensus reads, "Better action scenes and tighter pacing elevate Iron Fist's second season, but it remains a lesser light among MCU shows". Netflix does not share its viewing numbers, but apparently they believed that Iron Fist was not performing well enough to justify a third season.

In the years since Daredevil debuted on Netflix, the streaming service has been growing and building its roster of street-level NY heroes - adding Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, The Punisher, and the immortal Iron Fist, aka Danny Rand.

"We're thankful to the fans who have watched these two seasons, and for the partnership we've shared on this series", the statement continued.

Cecchinato trailed 3-1 in the final set and 4-1 in the deciding tie-break, but rallied on both occasions to avoid an early exit. Although Roger Federer finally won a match in straight sets at this year's Shanghai Masters , it didn't save him any energy.

News of the cancellation comes on the heels of a second season - which was released on September 7. However, it may find a revival on another streaming service.

Iron Fist debuted past year on Netflix, and was quickly pummeled by a wave of negative reviews.

It's worth noting that the Deadline report indicates that the Iron Fist cast was only informed about this decision within the past few hours. The deal also includes the shows Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Daredevil, and The Defenders.

Representatives for Netflix and Marvel thanked the fans for tuning in to the series' two season run.
