Although, the commander-in-chief, the White House and several top Trump administration officials have denounced the book as "fiction" and "fabrication", it doesn't take away from the fact that the incidents reported in the book echo shocking similarities to other books written about the Trump administration. Having entered office as a controversial figure, Donald Trump is now considered an increasingly controversial president.

Bob Woodward has drawn President Donald Trump's ire in recent weeks ahead of the release of the veteran journalist's book about the inner workings of the White House. Woodward's book, has said the book is based on "hundreds of hours of interviews with firsthand sources, contemporaneous meeting notes, files, documents and personal diaries". "We have huge deficits and they matter".

"It was clear that Trump did not understand the way the USA government debt cycle balance sheet worked", Woodward wrote.

The book features an exchange Trump allegedly had with Defense Secretary Jim Mattis and the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Joseph F Dunford in which the President described Senator John McCain, who died on August 25, as cowardly.

Trump tweeted that "the Woodward book is a Joke - just another assault against me, in a barrage of assaults, using now disproven unnamed and anonymous sources". This is a crisis."In other words, the United States will hold midterm elections against the backdrop of a heated debate on the deep state and a coup against the president".

Cohn on Tuesday pushed back on the Woodward book.
