Croatia is the 2018 World Cup runner-up, winning its group that included Argentina before beating Denmark, Russia and England on the way to the final.

The UEFA Nation's League match between Spain and Croatia will be broadcast live on ESPN2 and Univision Deportes. It was their biggest defeat after a 5-1 drubbing by England in a World Cup qualifier in September 2009.

Croatia midfielder Ivan Rakitic wasn't too happy with his team's performance against Spain.

Carvajal also provided the cross from which Saul headed the opener, giving Spain a huge injection of belief and rattling the visitors, who moments later conceded possession in midfield before Asensio smashed the loose ball home from long range.

The two goals are his only two for Spain in 12 appearances to date.

Zlatko Dalic cut a furious figure on the touchline, and his mood darkened just four minutes after the restart, when Rodrigo beat the offside trap to latch onto a pass from Asensio and slot between Kalinic's legs.

Isco made it 6-0 for La Roja 20 minutes before time, blasting a low shot past Kalinic following another assist from Asensio who delivered a square pass.

What does it mean?

Spain's two wins out of two in the Nations League see them top League A Group 4 with six points.

Luis Enrique's charges got their campaign underway over the weekend with a 2-1 win over England at Wembley Stadium.

Croatia, so impressive in keeping the ball at the World Cup, lost confidence as Spain dominated possession and picked their opponents off easily.

His first goal was emphatic and he deserved his second effort to go straight in, rather than deflect off the back of the keeper.
