Ariana Grande had to turn off her Instagram comments after trolls blamed her for ex-boyfriend Mac Miller's death, but one of the rapper's close friends insists she was integral in keeping Miller sober and healthy.

Shane Powers dropped an episode of his podcast "The Shane Show" on Monday night, which was totally dedicated to remembering Mac, and in it he says Ariana was a "G" to him.

Mac's close friend divulged a few details about the couple's relationship, sharing: 'They were very much in love and I have to say, she was incredible when he was first sobering up'.

The "Attention" star then became quite tearful, as he said "I always thought I'd be the one to help him get clean and to lead him onto the path of a good, clean, sober life". She was "ready to go to the wall" to help him and was said to be hit hard by his death.
