Speculation about Paul Pogba's future at Manchester United continues to mount amid reports in the British media that the midfielder is afraid he will be punished if he says the wrong thing.

Jose Mourinho showed his disappointment over the club's transfer activity this summer again as he said he should be described as Manchester United's "head coach" rather than manager. We planned to go to Old Trafford early yesterday to try to get Pogba's autograph before the players went off to their hotel, but had a delay with the vehicle hire at Manchester Airport and missed the team.

It was not ideal by any means, but who cares?

Despite having just four days training after his post-World Cup break, he put in a match of the match performance against Leicester.

It was definitely a positive night for United, who picked up three points against hard opponents - and there is lots more to come from them.

"But he's so confident and he started the game brilliantly", Neville added.

"It's the same Paul Pogba".

The United board were not open to spending money on defenders that they claimed were not better than the players already in the side, which has not gone down well with Mourinho according to the Guardian. The opaque reference to "what's going on" may also be a source of concern for United fans desperate to see him remain and flourish at the club for a long time.

But Woakes, who had scored nine previous first-class hundreds, and Jonny Bairstow (93) turned the tide during a stand of 189. Rahane, who did all the hard work to survive 44 deliveries, nicked Anderson's straight delivery to first slip Alastair Cook.

Mourinho 'angry and frustrated' after Man Utd centre-half signing flop
What lies ahead for Jose and United? United fans were particularly thrilled for the player after he finally got off the mark. Pressed on whether there would be incomings or outgoings at Old Trafford, Mourinho added: "The information I have is no".

"I came from the academy, I played for the first team". Even tonight, I know I can be better and that is what I want to keep showing the manager. "He made one mistake in 90 minutes, he was very good defensively".

"I won't be full from a World Cup", Pogba told Sky Sports. "I am someone who likes challenges and wants to progress and you have to leave it behind now".

And I was delighted for Luke Shaw to get his first goal in senior football.

Shaw got the start, which would have been nerve-wracking for him. A player that gets chosen and is happy, you always feel more comfortable than when he's not happy.

Lindelof and Bailly - together at the back?

"You can't sort of fall back and think "I'm changing my mind", you've gone too far". Paul Pogba couldn't play 90 minutes, Fred the same. Hopefully I will be back soon fit, very fit, 100 per cent fit.

"The players let me I would say lead and give me the space to speak as well, and we have the same objective", he said about his successful summer with France, before pointedly picking out manager Didier Deschamps for special mention.
