The first full slate of preseason games kicked off Thursday night, bringing NFL players back into the field for more football and more protests.

"Everybody is waiting for what the league is going to do", Jenkins said. "That's just my personal decision, to make sure that we keep these things at the forefront".

Trump, as he has in the past, took notice.

He claimed Friday that the players were outraged against "something that majority are unable to define", however players have repeatedly said they are protesting disenfranchismenet of black people in the United States.

Usually, presidents don't begin their statements with "Be happy, be cool", but here we are. Most of that money goes to the players anyway.

Trump, who has urged the NFL to suspend protesting players, again called on the league to act, and said players should find another way to speak out.

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones recently stated that his team would require players to stand on the field for the national anthem no matter what rule the league settles on. Miami defensive end Robert Quinn raised a fist into the air.

The NFL pre-season got underway on Thursday night with several players staging protests during the national anthem.

That policy was put into place without any input from players or the players' union, so the National Football League agreed to undergo discussions with the NFLPA after the union had filed a grievance.

Here's what Trump had to say Friday morning. The myriad protest maneuvers were public, with players showing that they are unapologetically sending a message to stop racial injustice and police brutality. Not only have the players "defined" their reasons for protesting on literally dozens of occasions, they did so this summer in a direct letter to Trump himself in the New York Times. I thought I was going to be by myself out there, and today I had an angel with me with Albert being out there.

"The NFL players are at it again - taking a knee when they should be standing proudly for the National Anthem", Trump wrote.

The union filed a grievance over the May policy and contemplated possible legal action.

Meanwhile, Colin Kaepernick, the former San Francisco 49ers quarterback who is credited with popularizing these protests in 2016, noted the impact of this latest wave.

Trump is claiming that the players' issues with the justice system are "undefinable" despite the fact that activists' demands are extremely clear and can be distilled in plain-English bullet points.

Various other preseason games across the United States also had some form of protestation. "Stay strong brothers!" the tweet reads.

Jenkins met with Reverend Jesse Jackson when Jackson visited the team this week. "Albert Wilson joined him in protest".
