The PS4 makes up a solid chunk of that number, having sold 81.2 million as of July 22, 2018. This particular variant, which is created to celebrate PlayStation's achievement of reaching 525.3 million units of hardware worldwide, comes with translucent body. The European PlayStation Blog mentions there will be opportunities in win one in that region, but does not offer additional details.

In celebration of this milestone, Sony is releasing a limited edition PlayStation 4 Pro console. All of them are packed nicely into an equally special box with matching colorway as well. Here's Sony's breakdown of everything you can expect from this collector's item. The admittedly cool-looking translucent dark blue version of the PlayStation 4 Pro, the 500 Million Limited Edition, comes with matching DualShock 4 wireless controller, PlayStation Camera, Vertical Stand and mono headset. It will be $499.99 USD/$639.99 CAD/€499. However, only a select few (an unknown number) will have special serial numbers commemorating special dates in PlayStation history.

"Extra Special" serial numbers like 09995, which is the USA launch date of the original PS, will be available.

In addition, a limited-edition Gold Wireless Headset and wireless controller will be sold separately.

Although it's a normal PS4 Pro in most respects it's the first one ever to come with a 2TB hard drive as standard and has a unique dark blue translucent casing and gold lettering. Theyll go for $500/€500 starting August 24. The limited edition DS4 and Gold Wireless Headset will be available in select retailers across the US and Canada in early September. Note that quantities will be extremely limited.
