PREVIOUS STORY: Adult film star Stormy Daniels, who claims she had an affair with Donald Trump and is suing the president, was arrested during a performance at an OH strip club, her lawyer said early Thursday.

OH passed a law in 2007 which prohibits patrons touching performers at a sexually-oriented business anywhere on the premises or in the parking lot, or a performer touching a patron.

Avenatti noted that the law applies to those who regularly perform at such clubs and there was no evidence that Daniels had ever appeared there before. "I've determined that these crimes were not committed, based on the fact that Ms. Clifford has not made regular appearances at this establishment as required under the law", Columbus City Attorney Zach Klein said in a statement after reviewing the case. He called the arrest a setup and said Daniels has performed the act at almost a hundred strip clubs across the country.

According to a Columbus Police report shared by a Fox affiliate in Cleveland, Daniels went on the club's main stage at 11:30 p.m. for a performance.

Daniels allegedly began holding her breasts against one female detective's face, before then "forcing" the face of a male officer into her chest and "smacking his face with her bare breasts". She was due to be arraigned Friday.

The court documents also did not specify whether or not Clifford was taken into custody. Daniels, Miranda Panda of Marion, Ohio, and Brittany Walters of Pickerington, Ohio, were each charged in the undercover operation.

Stormy was released early on Thursday morning on a $6,000 bond. A person who answered the phone at the strip club declined to comment.

Avenatti called the arrest a setup, politically motivated, and said it - quote "reeks of desperation".

Saddened to hear the other 2 dancers arrested with me last night did not have their charges dropped.

"They are devoting law enforcement resources to sting operations for this? There has to be higher priorities!", he added.

'This was a setup and politically motivated. He also said that Daniels is briefly postponing her national tour and will plead not guilty to the charges against her.

However, police say they were there investigating complaints of alleged prostitution and drug activity.

Earlier this week, Daniels performed in Washington at the Cloakroom, located about halfway between the Capitol and the White House, minutes before President Donald Trump announced his Supreme Court nomination.

Daniels is suing the president and his former longtime personal lawyer and fixer Michael Cohen, and trying to invalidate a nondisclosure agreement she signed days before the 2016 presidential election. The payment might have violated campaign finance laws. In May, Trump said Daniels was paid to stop "false and extortionist accusations". "And she said yes". After Stormy's performance, she and the other 2 were arrested at the same time. Avenatti said in another tweet, appearing to suggest a set-up. After the show, she poses for photos with fans for a fee.
