He was a runner-up a year ago when Trump nominated Neil Gorsuch to the Supreme Court.

And it's significant because his choice is expected to swing the court towards the right.

Trump is scheduled to make his much-awaited announcement during his prime time address to the nation tomorrow at 9 pm (1 am GMT).

The list and reports coming from the interviews, however, have given Trump opponents a chance to examine each of the judges on the list and develop potential attacks on the records of each. "He is a brilliant jurist with a clear and effective writing style, universally regarded as one of the finest and sharpest legal minds of our time". His first, Justice Neil Gorsuch was confirmed to the high court in April 2017.

He has served on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the DC Circuit since 2006.

But his work on President Bill Clinton's impeachment, his close ties to President George W. Bush and his ruling on President Barack Obama's health care law, which he opposed on procedural rather than broader legal grounds, have raised concerns among some conservatives.

Like the other eight justices on the court, Kavanaugh has an Ivy League law degree, spending his undergraduate and law school years at Yale. His friends? What is within the scope of Mueller's investigation?

At 53, Kavanaugh is relatively young.

Kavanaugh is likely to be more conservative than Justice Kennedy on a range of social issues.

Kavanaugh is a reliable conservative who has been present for some of the Republican party's sleaziest moments. He has also been described as an "originalist" or "textualist", a judge who sticks with the Constitution as written. "He has a track record that demonstrates his talents and his judicial philosophy".

Courtois boasts two clean sheets from five matches in Russian Federation while Lloris has two in four. I have scored a few goals against him in training with Chelsea and I hope I can do it on Tuesday.

'Croatia will play on counter and rely on Modric & Rakitic'
My gut is telling me Croatia will win this game. "He [Kane] is top scorer - he's not easy to stop". While the skill of the teams might be pretty similar, their style of play is very different.

The series begins in America on Sunday, with Channel 4 then showing episodes a night later (from Monday 16th July) in a 10pm slot.

Bob Casey (D-Pa.), who opposes abortion, announced on Monday he can not support a process that involved Trump's picking from a list of 25 candidates selected by conservatives and big business. Once that happened, I think that the Supreme Court was diminished for decades to come.

The president has spent the days leading up to his announcement discussing the pros and cons of the various options with aides and allies.

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) already spoke out Monday evening saying that he was going to oppose Kavanaugh's nomination with "everything" he has.

Kavanaugh will begin making the rounds on Capitol Hill on Tuesday, accompanied by former Sen. Feinstein is the ranking Democrat on the Judiciary Committee.

Republicans are eager for conservatives to gain a firm majority on the court.

Democrats are certain to press Trump's latest nominee on the landmark 1973 Roe v. Wade ruling that legalized abortion nationwide, a decision some conservatives - particularly conservative Christians - have long wanted to overturn.

Leo said Hardiman of Pennsylvania and Kethledge of MI are "a little bit less known by conservatives". Justice Kennedy devoted his career to securing liberty. "The most important thing we can do". Previous lobbying efforts by McConnell - including a push for fellow Kentuckian 6th Circuit Court of Appeals Judge Amul Thapar, who would have been the court's first Asian-American nominee - have failed.

Two other vulnerable Democratic senators up for re-election this fall ― Claire McCaskill of Missouri and Jon Tester of Montana ― did not support Gorsuch's nomination.

Meanwhile, the Senate's top Democrat wasted no time in sharing his displeasure at Trump's choice to replace Justice Kennedy.

Democratic Sens. Heidi Heitkamp of North Dakota, Doug Jones of Alabama, Joe Manchin of West Virginia and Joe Donnelly of IN were invited for the announcement.
